An Illustrated Lecture and Piano Recital
by Dr. Damjana Bratuz
Septemeber 24, 1987
Muriel Richardson Auditorium

(From the printed Program:)

“The arts in 1912 were in pursuit of modernism. The search for the avant-garde led many artists and composers to revive earlier models based on primitivism. Such was the case with Hungarian composer Béla Bartók and Rumanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi. In this unique and acclaimed presentation, Dr. Damjana Bratuz will link the use of primitive and peasant models by the two artist. Dr. Bratuz will give an illustrated lecture with taped music, followed by a brief piano recital of Bartók compositions.”

Programme;

Dirges - Adagio
Poco lento

Out Doors – The Chase
The Night’s Music
